Bonsai light2008-03-275 / 5
If you are a beginner,as I am. Taking care of a bonsai is harder than taking care of kids. This is a nice light and times the light for the plant. Well worth the money.
Fun Item, Great Gift!2008-03-275 / 5
I bought one of these recently for myself as an antidote to the snowdrifts. I have a beautiful begonia under it and the begonia is thriving and blooming beautifully. I just bought another along with another begonia for a friend who has been super helpful and he's delighted too. I'm going to get another to try a super tiny tomato or herbs. Highly recommend one for the fun of it, especially if you have low e glass in your windows as many plants don't do well behind it. The full spectrum bulb may perk you up too!
Love it!2008-02-135 / 5

Excellent - office desk plant coming back to life2008-02-084 / 5
I was having a devil of a time keeping a plant alive on my desk in my cube at work. Plants were becoming disposable. After receiving this light, I already have two new leaves on my plant and things are going well. There are only two things that are difficult: 1) the Water Me light never seems to come on even though the plant needs watering and 2) the Water Me light is on the back so the only way to see if it needs watering is to rotate the whole thing to look at the back. But, I water by feeling the dirt and the light doesn't come on for this plant, so this isn't a terrible issue for me.
Great for African Violets2008-01-015 / 5
My apartment is situated so that none of the window receive direct sunlight expect around sunrise for about 1 hour. Not the best environment to grow many plants.

This plant light is the only way plants have survived in my apartment, especially the African Violet that was given to me from my mother's funeral. I've never had any luck keeping one alive, but this one has survived two years so far and blooms so beautifully!

The water sensor is great asset, as it is bad to water African Violets too much but I've never gotten down the science to know exactly when to water one.

The issue with setting the time isn't a big real big issue at all. To me, anyway. I just plugged it in for the first time when I woke up in the morning. So now it always comes on around that time everyday and turns off around bed-time (I have the light set to eternal summer, which the African Violet seems to like).

I want another one for work. My office has no window at all and could really use some plants!
